Images of Saturn taken on 3rd May 2011

This set of images of Saturn were taken using a Celestron C11 on 3rd May 2011

I wasn't particularly pleased with the results I was getting from the C11 compared to my 8 inch Newtonian and a check on it's collimation showed a flare in the images of stars.A re-collimation has produced the following diffaction patterns either side of focus and hopefully will give good images of Jupiter in the forthcoming Jupiter season
